Collection of cultural discovery day trips of Skopje and it's surroundings..

Skopje has captured the media attention in the region and around Europe in the past few years because of the "Skopje 2014" construction project, but we also want to reveal to You the long and turbulent history of one of the oldest cities in the area, as well as the beautiful natural sites surrounding it.

Old and New

Old and new Skopje

The walking sightseeing tour of the old and new part of Skopje begins with the most famous landmarks of old Skopje: The old railway station – first train station on the Balkan, and in that time was the most beautiful object on the Balkan; The monument of Mother Teresa; The house of Mother Teresa; The Stone Bridge – monumental building in the center of the city, and the most imposing monument in our country and on the Balkan, built in the beginning of the VI century; Amenities of the Skopje Bazar (Daut Pashin Hammam – monument of the Islam architecture from the XV century / church St. Spas, built at the end of the XVII century, and place which holds the relics of the greatest Macedonian Revolutionary Goce Delcev (1872-1903) / Fortress Kale). Lunch is arranged in a local restaurant with a traditional setting.

The tour continues with short visits of the amenities of the "Skopje 2014" project, the most controversial state funded construction project since Macedonia's independence. The purpose of the project is complete makeover of Skopje's central area, and it's still not finished (as of April 2015). Discussions and opinions are divided whether the project serves it's purpose or not, and whether the new visual identity of Skopje is worth the tremendous amount of money spent on its creation.
