Proposal itinerary:
Day 1 Arrival in Skopje. Exploration of the old and new part of Skopje, including visit of one of the green markets.
Day 2 Exploration of the Shar area in the vicinity of Tetovo, where we go for truffle hunting and enjoy truffle infused lunch. Transfer to Mavrovo national park.
Day 3 Cooking demo in the Dolna Reka area, followed by visit of the Bigorski monastery and transfer to Ohrid.
Day 4 Sightseeing in the old town of Ohrid. Dinner with a family in the Ohrid countryside.
Day 5 Private boat cruise on the lake of Ohrid, to the Monastery of St. Naum. Afternoon departure to Prespa and overnight in mountain village. Cooking demo over dinner.
Day 6 Morning transfer to the area of Bitola for organic beekeeping demo, followed by visit of Bitola and Heraclea Lyncestis, and finishing the day in Krushevo.
Day 7 Guided food & artisan tour of Krushevo in the morning, followed by transfer to the Tikvesh wine region to meet few small local wine producers and taste their wines and spirits.
Day 8 Departure to Skopje Airport.
Proposal itinerary:
Day 1 Arrival in Skopje. Exploration of the old and new part of Skopje, including visit of one of the green markets.
Note: If You decided to do combo of both Western and Eastern Macedonia, then this day is reserved for exploration of the area of Kavadarci, Negotino and Demir Kapija.
Day 2 Discovery of the Strumica area, it’s ancient Roman baths and medieval monasteries of Vodocha and Veljusa.
Day 3 Walk to the Smolare waterfall, followed by transfer to Pechevo, in the heartland of the Maleshevo region. Dinner with a local family still making their living out of sheep farming.
Day 4 Rest day in the area of Pehcevo, or easy going hiking or biking.
Day 5 Transfer from Pehcevo to Kratovo via Stip (pitstop to try the famous “pastrmajlija” pie). Afternoon discovery of the Kuklica stone valley, and walking around Kratovo’s medieval towers and bridges.
Day 6 Cooking demo at a family home in Kratovo, before heading to Kriva Palanka, where we stay at the renowned Monastery of Osogovski.
Day 7 Transfer to the area of Nagorichane, where we walk in the area of the Kokino (bronze-age archeaological site), and end up with epic lunch in Kumanovo. Afternoon return to Skopje for farewell dinner in Debar Maalo – Skopje’s famous bohemian quarters.
Day 8 Departure to the Skopje Airport.

Tour description:
Get familiar with Macedonia’s gastronomy on one of our foodie day trips, where You get to walk around their most famous amenities, visit their green markets and have hands-on food tasting with local hosts. Where appropriate, we will arrange cooking demo of a selection of traditional dishes typical for the area visited. Of course, the meal is always accompanied with selection of premium spirits and wines.
